bacterial spores. The results indicate that tylosin is strongly inhibitory. Additional tests confirm the adjuvant effect of nisin and heat on spores of Bacillus stearothermophilus. These tests also show that tylosin has marked stability to heat as compared to the lesser heat stability of nisin. The ability of tylosin to prevent the outgrowth of naturally occurring thermophilic spores in a commercial product following a reduced heat process was demonstrated. REFERENCES

Decolorization of Distillery Wastewater by UV irradiated spores of Aspergillus fumigatus
An efficient microbial technique for decolorizing distillery wastewater was achieved using irradiated spores of Aspergillus fumigatus. The fungus was isolated from soil samples taken from the local distillery processing unit. By using the irradiated spores, wastewater decolorization increased by 14.3% as compared to that of the control treatment (68.8% vs. 54.5%). In the presence of sodium nitr...
متن کاملAlpha Amylase Production by Aspergillus Oryzae Using Solid State Fermentation
A fungal strain of Aspergillus oryzae was used for the production of alpha amylase by solid state fermentation from agro-industrial waste. Enzyme production was growth associated and maximum activity (8.23 U/ml) were obtained after 120h when incubated at 30°C on wheat bran with initial moisture content 60%; initial medium pH = 5 . Enzyme activity increased when the solid medium was supplemented...
متن کاملPRODUCTION OF BETA-GALACTOSIDASE IN SUBMERGED MEDIA BY ASPERGILLUS ORYZAE, PTCC 5 163
Different compositions of liquid media were used for their efficacy in the production of beta-galactosidase by Aspergillus oryzae in submerged fermentation. Enzyme production was improved by switching from lactose-based media to soybean meal- and wheat bran-based media. Further improvement was made when the soybean meal medium was supplemented with sodium nitrate and magnesium sulfate. Res...
متن کاملSIVARAMAKRISHNAN et al: α-AMYLASE PRODUCTION BY A. ORYZAE USING SSF
This study presents production of α-amylase by Aspergillus oryzae in solid-state fermentation using 14 agro-industrial wastes as substrate. Enzyme production was growth associated and maximum titers (15095 U/gds) were obtained after 72 h when incubated at 30°C on wheat bran (initial moisture content, 60%; initial medium pH, 5). Enzyme titers increased significantly when the solid medium was sup...
متن کاملAmylase production from Aspergillus oryzae LS1 by solid-state fermentation and its use for the hydrolysis of wheat flour
Nine Aspergillus and three of Trichoderma strains were grown on wheat bran (WB) medium under solid state fermentation (SSF) for amylase production. Aspergillus oryzae LS1 produced the highest level of the enzyme. The thermal stability profile of its crude enzyme revealed the half-life time of more than 2 h at 50 and 60ºC. The enzyme production was affected by strain type, incubation periods, le...
